WHAT WILL YOU FIND IN THE COURSE?
For me, flash is far from just a technical aid to add light to a dark scene. I see it above all as an incredibly creative tool that allows me to bring a new dimension—or even an entirely new reality—into an image. In this course, I will not only explain the fundamentals of using flash, but above all share all of my workflows and techniques that I have developed over the years to create compelling photographs of insects, frogs, reptiles, birds, and mammals. When—and more importantly, how—do I use one, two, or even multiple flashes? What diffusers do I use and why? Why have I practically stopped using flash for standard bird photography thanks to modern technology? What ethical principles guide my use of flash in wildlife photography? You’ll find answers to all these questions—and much more—in this new video course I’ve been preparing for several years.
This is the second part of my planned series Photographic Techniques by Petr Bambousek. I am aware that tutorials on flash use in wildlife photography already exist, and that general information can easily be found online. That’s why I wanted to avoid repeating universal truths about the “right” way to use flash, and instead focus on describing in detail my own system that I rely on in the field. Each chapter goes in depth so that photographers will not only understand WHAT I set, but more importantly WHY and WHEN I make those adjustments to get the most out of each situation.
